Lord, it's true that You work in such mysterious ways and the fact that as soon as I opened up my prayer book it opened to this certain prayer is a true sign that I must pray:
Lord Jesus, help me to respect and reverence my body and the bodies of others. Help me to accept the gift of sexuality and to protect it in a culture that has lost all respect for sexuality and the human body. Regardless of the culturally accepted and preferences of how people want to act on their sexuality, and the powerful mind-molding effects of the media, help me to follow a different path - the path of sexual purity. Help me to acquire self-mastery; help me to burn with a holy passion to make a more complete and pure gift of myseld in all that I do and all that I am, so that my sexuality can be accepted as a gift and expressed in a way that is pleasing to you. Alleluia.
Also, help me to keep my lenten promises. Thank you, Amen.
